The Arkansas TV Foundation, formerly the Arkansas PBS Foundation, has received a $1 million-per-year gift from an anonymous donor for the next three years. The gift will be used for the PBS Dues Fund. This follows a vote by the Arkansas TV Commission to not disenfranchise from PBS while seeking alternative funding sources. The issue arose due to federal cuts to public broadcasting funding. An advocacy group, Friends of Arkansas PBS, led by former Arkansas first ladies Barbara Pryor and Gay White, is working to maintain PBS in Arkansas.
