Dying man found at Monterey beach hours after hotel’s camera recorded plunge from patio

A dying man was found on the beach shortly before noon Saturday, hours after a hotel's video camera recorded someone jumping off a patio above. The victim may have been involved in a fight outside a Cannery Row bar. Police found the fight at 1:09 a.m. and chased the fleeing man for a quarter-mile before losing sight of him near the Plaza de Monterey. The man did not wish to provide any information about the incident.
