The Iran war has disrupted global supply chains, leading to potential increases in prices for condoms, according to the CEO of Malaysian condom manufacturer, Karex. The company may raise prices by at least 20% to 30 depending on how long the disruption lasts. The war has also disrupted some materials used in condom production, including naphtha used to make packaging materials and silicon oil and ammonia, which are key ingredients in condom manufacturing. Along with higher costs for manufacturing and packaging condoms, there are delays in shipping. The situation is described as "very fragile" and Karex has stated that it has enough supply to last a few months.
