Alexia Moore, a 31-year-old woman from south Georgia, has been charged with murder for allegedly taking abortion pills and giving birth in a local hospital. The arrest report stated that Moore took 200mg of Misoprostol, a drug used to have an abortion, before she was transported to Southeast Georgia Health System hospital in Camden County. The infant was born prematurely and had major health issues. Moore was arrested last week and is currently in jail without the option for bond. Georgia has one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country, the LIFE Act which allows a person to remain alive once they have a detectable heartbeat.
