Disney CEO Bob Iger Bids Farewell: “I Believe Deeply In This Company’s Future”

Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, has officially handed over the reins to new CEO Josh D'Amaro. At the Disney Annual Shareholder meeting, Iger reflected on his tenure, particularly on his surprise return as CEO in 2022 and the "lost confidence" employees had in the company after Bob Chapek's brief tenure as CEO. He expressed more confidence in the new leadership, particularly in his belief in D’Amaros' passion for the company's businesses and brands, respect for its people, and Dana Walden's role as creative director. Iger will continue working with Disney as a special adviser and member of the board of directors until the end of 2026.
