Hudson River plane crash pilot shows laser focus as engine dies in dramatic air traffic call: ‘Put it in the water’

The pilot of the small plane that crashed in the Hudson River, New Jersey, told air traffic controllers that he may have to "put it in the water" and that they were still running on "a little bit of power" and would be aiming for the west bank of the river. Despite the harrowing circumstances, the pilot and passenger managed to swim to shore and change into dry clothes before first responders found them. They only suffered minor injuries.
