Home security company Ring is expanding its "Fire Watch" feature nationwide, which aims to improve wildfire detection and alerting. The feature was introduced in January following the worst fire season in Utah in five years, which saw the damage or destruction of dozens of homes across the state. The technology alerts Ring customers when a wildfire reports nearby, and can help evacuate in real time while assisting first responders. The cost of Ring Protect ranges from $4.99 to $19.99 per month or $49.99 for year, depending on the number of cameras or other features.
