A new poll by Democratic polling firm Impact Research for left-wing coalition Tax the Greedy Billionaires has warned that if California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to oppose raising taxes on billionaires, his favorability rating nationwide will plummet by 28 points. Among Democratic primary voters, 56% of voters would view him less favorably, while 44% would. The tax, proposed by the SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West, would move funding to healthcare and education programs threatened by federal funding cuts. Despite this, some wealthy Californians, including Google co-founder Sergey Brin and former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, have fled California.
