Lawsuit accuses Spirit Airlines of neglect in death of elderly passenger

The family of 75-year-old man with dementia, Marcos Humberto Vindel Osorio, has sued Spirit Airlines for negligence in his death in 2024. Osorio was left unaccompanied and disoriented at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston after leaving a Spirit flight from Honduras and was later fatally struck by several vehicles. The lawsuit alleges that Osorio had been allowed to leave the plane without supervision or assistance. The future of the lawsuit is uncertain since Spirit shut down.
