Blackpool Zoo has welcomed a new baby giant anteater pup into the world, named as the "most threatened mammal in Central America". The pup is only about 50cm (20in) long and keepers are leaving its mother to rear it naturally. The species is classified as vulnerable to extinction in the wild and their population is declining. The new arrival joins a growing family of animals, with two older offspring moving to other zoos in Europe.
