Chicago craft brewers Half Acre and Maplewood announce merger

Chicago craft breweries Half Acre and Maplewood have announced a merger, which aims to unite under one corporate umbrella. The two companies will maintain separate brands while sharing brewing facilities and resources to navigate the challenging craft beer industry. Half-Acre will produce nearly all of the beer for Maplewood post-merger, while Maplewood outsources its production to a downstate Normal brewery. The merger is expected to close in spring or early summer and both brands will maintain their own line of products and retail locations. However, there are potential collaboration opportunities for both companies.
