The Free Vision Checks for Children will be offered at the Farmington Valley YMCA from 9 a.m. to 11:30am on Saturday. The event is open to preschool and elementary-aged children, and requires no physical contact, no eye drops, and no appointment. The screening may help detect common vision concerns such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and eye alignment issues. The free event is part of an effort to increase access to children who may not otherwise receive routine vision checks.
