President Donald Trump is returning to Las Vegas to promote his No Tax on Tips policy, a feature of the One Big Beautiful Bill passed in 2025 that allows service workers to deduct up to $25,000 in tips from federal income taxes. However, small businesses like Mothership Coffee Roasters worry that fewer people have disposable income to spend or tip. This comes amid a sharp tourism slowdown, with Las Vegas visitation dropping 7.5% in 2025 to roughly 38.5 million people, its lowest since 2021. Critics argue that the policy does little for workers whose paychecks are being squeezed by higher costs brought on by the president's policies.
