'Mass grave sites' containing 117 dogs include 2 dead dogs transferred from Stockton, police say

Two dogs transferred from Stockton animal shelter were among 117 dogs found dead in mass grave sites, according to police. The dogs, named Ornament and Roselle, were transferred to Humboldt County in March 2026 and confirmed through microchip. Stockton Animal Services was notified about the deaths, and both Stockton and the Humbled County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. The causes of death or circumstances of transfers are not yet disclosed.
