JFK's Urgent 1955 Letter to Swedish Mistress Goes on Auction, with His U.S. Senate Letterhead and All

A handwritten letter from John F. Kennedy to Swedish aristocrat Gunilla von Post is being auctioned off more than 70 years after its delivery. The note, written on United States Senate letterhead and postmarked in June 1955, includes the line "I am coming to Stockholm,” and asks von Post to “write to me right away as I shall be leaving for Europe in 2 weeks.” The note also mentions von Post's engagement to Swedish landowner Anders Ekman later that same year. The letter is part of RR Auction's Remarkable Rarities sale, which is estimated to be worth $30,000 or more.
