Iran has targeted commercial ships and Dubai International Airport, escalating its campaign to squeeze the oil-rich region amid concerns over global energy supplies. The country's joint military command announced it would start targeting banks and financial institutions in the Middle East, potentially putting at risk Dubai, home to many international financial institutions, Saudi Arabia and the island kingdom of Bahrain. Two Iranian drones hit near Dubai airport, causing four people to be injured but flights continued. An assessment from Israeli intelligence revealed that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was wounded at the start of the war. The U.N. Security Council will vote on a resolution sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council demanding Iran stop attacking its Arab neighbors. The resolution condemns Iran’s attacks and calls for an immediate end to all strikes and threats against neighboring states.
