Americans stranded in the Middle East as the war in the region escalates are expressing frustration and fears. The Trump administration is working to relocate US citizens who wish to leave, including those who have been advised to shelter in place and seek commercial flights. The State Department is also facilitating charter flights from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan for American citizens, and increasing ground transportation options for American individuals seeking to leave Israel. However, many have expressed frustration at limited guidance and assistance received from the State Department. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said they are confident in their ability to assist every American. State Department officials have urged Americans to contact the Department if they are stuck overseas and need assistance.
