The oil spill in Terrebonne Parish has impacted the seafood industry, affecting many oyster and crab businesses. The community is concerned about the future of their businesses if the oil is not cleaned up properly. The recent spill temporarily shut down his seafood company, Jeffery Galletlet, and the state's Department of Health. Parish leaders have stated that there is no exact timeline on clean-up and that they are working with the Offshore OIL Port to ensure it is properly cleaned up in the Gulf. The oil has covered many oysters and crabs during their peak season, impacting many businesses. Frustrations are growing in the community as oil still lingers in the water.
