Sun Metro is set to unveil its first zero-emission electric vehicle fleet in El Paso, a move hailed as a major investment in cleaner and more reliable transportation. The $11 million project will add 45 new electric vehicles to Sun Metro's LIFT fleet, marking a first for the city’s public transportation system. The vehicles will be used for the LIFT program, which provides curative rides for people under the Americans with Disabilities Act and provides more than 18,000 rides a month. The project is funded by the Federal Transit Administration's Low or No-Emission program.
