Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is showcasing its robotic technology to detect and treat lung cancer, offering patients shorter recovery times and fewer complications. The hospital has six of the latest model Da Vinci robots, which Dr. Emily Cassidy, a thoracic surgeon at the hospital, said their movement can reduce incisions and discomfort after surgery. Dr. Abdulla Moosa, a pulmonologist at the center, said a robotic bronchoscope has reduced the risk of complications during lung biopsies from 30% to 1% by accessing the lung from the inside.
