The storms that hit the Charlotte region on March 16 left widespread damage and power outages. The National Weather Service has issued a rare level 4 moderate risk for North Carolina, with primary threats of damaging wind gusts up to 74mph or higher, large hail, and tornadoes. North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein urged residents to be cautious due to the potential "unusually severe weather" moving into the state. The threat spans the entire state, with central North Carolina under a Level 4 (moderate) risk and eastern North Carolina and the foothills under a level 3 (enhanced) risk.
