Afghanistan says children among four killed in latest attacks by Pakistan

Four civilians, including three children and a woman, have been killed in an overnight Pakistani shelling attack in Khost province, eastern Afghanistan, according to local officials. This comes as fighting continues for a third consecutive week. The World Food Programme (WFP) has begun mobilising to provide immediate lifesaving food to over 20,000 families displaced due to the conflict. The Pakistani government accuses Kabul of harbouring fighters from the Pakistan Taliban, which has claimed responsibility for attacks on Pakistan. The situation escalated in February when Afghanistan launched cross-border attacks in response to Pakistani air attacks.
