Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has accused President Donald Trump of vetoing a Colorado drinking water project as retaliation for Rep. Lauren Boebert who signed a House discharge petition to release government documents related to deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The bill would have helped rural Colorado communities fund the Arkansas Valley Conduit (AVC), a 130-mile pipeline intended to carry clean water from the Pueblo Reservoir to 50,000 residents. Despite the minimal cost, Trump rejected the bill citing his commitment to ending “massive taxpayer handouts.” The project continues to receive congressional funding to continue construction.
