Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie has warned that the GOP may lose its "America First" base if his primary challenger, former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, succeeds in ousting him from Congress. Massie hosted a virtual livestream fundraiser on Monday night, which raised $351,318 within the first 24 hours. The event was attended by former Republican Texas Rep. Ron Paul, his son, and former Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and comedian Dave Smith. Despite the success of the campaign, Massie believes that the success demonstrates the ability to raise funds without relying on large donors. He also highlighted that the majority of the 3,200 microdonors can contribute multiple times before the May 19th primary.
