Fallbrook man, 70, charged in deadly shooting pleads not guilty

Michael Anthony Burke, a 70-year-old man from Fallbrook, California, is accused of using a shotgun to shoot two men, killing one and seriously injuring another. He was charged with murder, attempted murder, and discharging a weapon into a motor vehicle. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 75 years to life. The shooting occurred on East Mission Road, just west of Old Highway 395, which is still under investigation. Police believe the incident stemmed from an argument.
