Parker Messick loses no-hitter in ninth as Guardians beat Orioles

Cleveland Guardians defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 in the first innings of their four-game series. Rookie Parker Messick led a no-hitter bid into the ninth inning, but Leody Taveras led off with a single to trigger a two-run rally. Despite allowing only two baserunners in the game, Messick managed to tie his career high with nine strikeouts and walk two. Jose Ramirez and George Valera also contributed to the win. The Orioles' Shane Baz allowed four runs on six hits over a season-high six innings, remaining winless against Cleveland in three career starts.
