Dallas Fire-Rescue has unveiled an all-electric firefighting vehicle for its crews at Love Field, possibly the first all-encompassing airport firefighting vehicles at the airport. The PANTHER 6x6, manufactured by Austrian-based Rosenbauer International, could be added to the crew's main fleet after testing. The vehicle is quieter, faster, and more efficient for the crews' limited emergency response window of about 90 seconds. It will undergo a six-month trial and testing period before being put into service, with the goal of integrating one to two more vehicles into the frontline fleet. The company already has several orders from other airports.
