New data reveals that during President Donald Trump's second term, detentions in Arizona tripled. The data was compiled by the Deportation Data Project, which obtained the numbers through a public records request. From the start of the second term to mid-October, there were over 6,076 arrests, triple the amount from the previous year. Most of these arrests were through the Criminal Alien Program, where authorities took undocumented individuals already in federal, state, and local jails and prisons. However, for non-custodial arrests, around 1,768 people were arrested, with about 995 having no criminal history outside of their immigration status.
