The Royals and Hallmark Cards have announced a partnership to build a new ballpark in downtown Kansas City. The project, described as a "historic project" with an expected private investment of $2 billion, is expected to create more than 20,000 jobs and increase tourism to the metro. The stadium is expected, expected to cover 85 acres and feature a park-like central square and fountains. The total project will be funded by the team, other private investors, the city, and Missouri’s Show-Me Sports Investment Act. The announcement will be made at a news conference scheduled for Wednesday morning.
