The National Weather Service is predicting record-breaking temperatures for New Jersey this week, with temperatures expected to reach 15 to 30 degrees above average. The average temperature in April for New York City is in the mid-60s. If temperatures reach 90, it would be the first 90-degree day of the year and the first since September. Wildfires are expected to be a concern Monday, but winds will be light throughout the week, so there is a low wildfire risk. A shower or storm is possible each afternoon from Tuesday through Thursday, but the rainfall is not expected to significantly decrease.
