Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates have backed a massive lithium exploration campaign in the Democratic Republic of Congo, aiming to bring the critical resource used in electric vehicles and other batteries to the United States. The company's president, Josh Goldman, credits the efforts of the government and the U.S. State Department for creating the conditions for American companies to succeed in the country.
