A blizzard warning has been issued for parts of northern Illinois, including McHenry County, due to heavy snow, strong winds and potentially dangerous travel conditions. The warning is in effect from 10 p.m. to 1 p.am. It is expected that 3 to 5 inches of snow, a light glaze of ice, and wind gusts of up to 45 mph could create dangerous conditions for drivers. Some area schools have already announced closures or changes for Monday. The National Weather Service has advised people not to travel unless it is an emergency.
