Meta has signed a 10-year lease with Vornado Realty Trust to its Meta Lab location in Midtown Manhattan, 697 Fifth Ave. The tech giant is set to convert the store into a permanent showcase for its AI glasses and virtual reality products. The store, which opened as a pop-up in November, features interactive galleries, installations and partnerships with local artists. The company designed the store to give it a New York flavor, with installations and artworks tied to the city’s skate scene and artists. Despite some skepticism, Meta has said demand for in-person demos has been high, particularly for products such as Meta Ray-Ban Display and Meta Neural Band. The New York flagship is expected to showcase elements of culture in the city and beyond.
