Bankers Life to repay about $7M to some investors in $140M First Liberty fraud

A major financial services firm, Bankers Life, has agreed to pay nearly $6.7 million to over 40 investors in the $140 million Ponzi scheme that defrauded them. The restitution stems from allegations that a former financial adviser with deep ties to Georgia's Republican Party led to the scheme. The company is accused of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme and is believed to have misidentified itself.
