$63M Lake Weir Middle School replacement project kicks off April 7

Marion County Public Schools will begin the construction of a new $63 million replacement facility for Lake Weir Middle School on April 7. The project involves building a three-story, 141,000-square-foot facility on a 30-acre greenfield. The ceremony will include speeches from Marion County School Board Chair Dr. Sarah James and Superintendent Dr. Danielle Brewer, and several current students. The new school is expected to accommodate over 1,400 students once completed.
