Nuggets guard Jamal Murray scored a season-high 53 points in a 142-135 victory over the Mavericks, marking the team's fourth consecutive win. The game was played in temperatures reaching 89 degrees and remained above 70 degrees after sunset. Murray scored 33 points before halftime, including Denver's last 13 points, and finished the game with a total of 53. He also had a second 50-point game this season and 21st with 30 or more. The Nuggets improved to 11-0 in Murray's regular-season career when he scores 40, including 5-0 this season. The team also managed to maintain their 36 assists as a team to only produce nine turnovers. Nikola Jokic was responsible for 19 assists, bringing his total to 36 in a span of 24 hours. This was the second consecutive game of a back-to-back for the Nuggets, following a game in Phoenix that ended before 9:13 p.m. MT the previous night.
