Apple Valley, the seventh-seeded boys basketball team, stunned defending champion Wayzata in a Class 4A quarterfinal at Target Center. The Eagles, led by senior guard Trey Parker and leading scorer Ryan Christiansen, secured the win with 4.9 seconds left. The team will now face Maple Grove or Alexandria in the semifinals. WayzATA had taken a 16-3 lead early in the game, but Apple Valley responded with a 20-6 run to take the lead. The game ended at 50-50, with the Eagles scoring 21 points from seven 3-pointers.
