NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has discussed the possibility of replacement referees for the upcoming season in light of the ongoing labor dispute between the NFL and NFLRA. Florida attorney general James Uthmeier has demanded that the Rooney Rule no longer be enforced and may result in a civil rights enforcement action. The current collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA expires in 2031. The NFLPA is set to get former NFL Center JC Tretter back as their executive director. The Chicago Bears are in talks to move from Soldier Field to an undisclosed location.
