An Idaho House committee has rejected a bill meant to repeal childhood vaccine requirements, House Bill 808, which critics argued could restrict access to medical care. The bill proposed expanding on Idaho's existing law, which prohibits businesses, schools, and governments from requiring people to receive medical treatment, diagnosis or vaccines. Major groups opposed the bill, including the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry, the Idaho Hospital Association, and the Association of Counties and Association of Idaho Cities. The House Health and Welfare Committee voted to hold the bill in committee, effectively preventing it from advancing this legislative session.
