The US President's administration is working behind the scenes to influence Republican-led AI bills in Nebraska and Tennessee, pushing for changes to these bills. The move puts pressure on GOP state lawmakers who support AI guardrails but don't want to compromise with the White House. The White House has also sent a letter to Utah officials opposing a Republican-controlled AI transparency and kids' safety bill there. This comes as federal safeguards remain stalled in Congress, despite growing public support for regulation. The bills originally mirrored AI transparency measures in California and New York.
