Smith Brothers, a furniture manufacturing company in Berne, has celebrated its centennial year with a spring market launch of more than 100 new fabrics. The company, founded in 1926, has grown from being a modest regional supplier into a national brand with distribution in 43 states. It also produces sectionals, recliners, ottomans, and other furnishings. Smith Brothers was listed as No. 2 on a list of the top 10 American Furniture Companies That Still Use Real Wood in May 2022. Despite economic shifts, changing design trends, and generational transitions, the business has remained family-owned.
