USDA warns shoppers in 5 states about contamination found in popular ground beef brand

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for ground beef distributed in five states and the District of Columbia due to potentially containing metal fragments. The affected product was produced by White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, Georgia and was shipped to a distributor and to Mom's Organic Markets in the following states and territories. There have been no confirmed reports of injury to date. The public Health Alert covers 16-ounce vacuum-packed packages labeled "Westwood", with establishment number "EST 34729" and stamped "105761 Sell by 03/19/26".
