McLaren driver Oscar Piastri has downplayed expectations of a breakthrough win at his home Australian Grand Prix, despite leading the championship by 34 points last year. He insists that the team is not currently the dominant force at Albert Park and that they need to find more. Piastrian, who had seven race wins last season and placed third in the drivers championship, is expected to become the first home winner since the race joined Formula One in 1985. He also stated that he felt no extra pressure to perform at the home race after finishing ninth last year due to a poor off-season and the need to adapt to technical changes. Despite controversies involving the application of the team's 'Papaya Rules', Piastrastri insisted that any issues from last season have been resolved.
