The owner of West Suburban Medical Center, Ramco Healthcare Holdings, has filed a lawsuit to take control of the hospital from Dr. Manoj Prasad, CEO and majority owner of Resilience Healthcare, the private company that owns the hospital and Weiss Memorial Hospital. The complaint accuses Prasado of financial mismanagement and malfeasance, including breaching the leases and demanding back rent totalling over $20 million. The lawsuit also alleges that a $10 million state of Illinois gave to Resilitude in 2025 was misused for operations at Weiss, but instead moved the funds to a separate bank account and used for his own benefit. The court case was filed in Cook County Circuit Court, with an initial court date set for March 25.
