‘A big year:’ Pan-Mass Challenge raises tens of millions for cancer research

The Pan-Mass Challenge has raised tens of millions for cancer research and care over the course of two days, with nearly 6,500 participants and over 3,500 volunteers participating. The event aims to raise $79 million for cancer care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. All rider-raised dollars are directly distributed to the cancer institute to make progress towards cures and treatments for cancer. The bike-a-thon raised $78 million in 2025, bringing the total raised to over $1.125 billion since 1980. The starting line relocated to Worcester after over four decades of the previous start in Sturbridge. The 2026 riders from 44 states and seven other countries came from over 1,100 cancer survivors or current patients.
