The Vegas Golden Knights have lost their coach, Bruce Cassidy, to John Tortorella after less than four seasons in the job. The team's locker room was reportedly becoming stale before the firing, according to captain Mark Stone. Stone stated that the team was not playing with the same emotion they normally do and that they weren't playing well. The departure of Cassidy, the longest-tenured and winningest coach in Knights history, led to a period of stagnation in the team. The Knights entered Monday's game against the Vancouver Canucks in third place in the Pacific Division and three points back of the Edmonton Oilers for second place. Despite this, the team's performance has been inconsistent since returning from the Olympic break, with a 5-10-2-2 record since March 15.
