The Joliet City Council is set to vote on the proposed Joliet Technology Center, which would be built on the city's far southeast side near the Chicagoland Speedway. The land belongs to Bernhard Farms, the family of Joliet city planning director Jayne Bernhard. Suggestions have surfaced that the Bernhard family will sell off their 795-acre farmland for the data center. In preparation for the meeting, Dustin Anderson, director of community development, has written a lengthy Council memo addressing the pros and cons of the project.
