British cartoon band Gorillaz collaborated with American alternative pop duo Sparks for a performance of "The Happy Dictator" on "Kimmel" on Thursday night. The song is the lead single from their ninth studio album, The Mountain, released via their own label KONG. The performance was performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, with Damon Albarn playing the character of the dictator. The album, which debuted in the UK in March, was recorded at Studio 13 in London and Devon, various locations in India, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Rajasthan and Varanasi, and New York. The Mountain also features collaborations with artists including Sparks, James Ford, Samuel Egglenton, and Remi Kabaka Jr.
