Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has expressed doubt about renewed peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, who are set to meet for another round of indirect peace talks in Islamabad. Pompeo accused Iranian negotiators of delaying an agreement to resolve the conflict. The White House is sending special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, to lead the second round of Pakistani-mediated ceasefire talks. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is leading the Iranian delegation, but the country has ruled out a face-to-face meeting with U.K. The first round of talks collapsed two weeks ago due to an inability to reach an agreement on Iran's future nuclear program.
