Triangulum Galaxy dazzles in psychedelic color

The European Southern Observatory's (ESO) (VLT) has captured a new image of the Triangulum Galaxy, which is located 3 million light-years away from Earth. The image was used to separate light from the Messier 33 (M33) into its constituent wavelengths, revealing the presence of different elements in clouds of gas between the galaxy's young and old stars. Anna Feltre, a postdoctoral researcher at the INAF-Astrophysical Observatory, said the image is a reminder that the space between stars is not empty.
